I want to share my personal experience at the Phoenix Tattoo branch I visited in Ho Chi Minh City. I went in for a large chest and back piece, explained what I wanted, and was told it could be done. We agreed on a total price of 25 million VND. The session started around 3 PM and stopped around 6:30 or7. When we stopped, a significant part of the back tattoo was still unfinished. I understand big tattoos take multiple sessions, but that wasn’t clearly discussed, and it felt rushed. I was just told to come back the next day for my neck. During the session, there was a lot of pressure used on my skin and my back and neck were extremely red afterward. The most uncomfortable part was the payment. Even though the chest hadn’t been started and the back was incomplete, the artist insisted on the full 25 million VND right away. I didn’t think that was reasonable. I wasn’t refusing to pay, I was happy to pay for the work that had actually been completed. In the end, I paid half, 12.5 million VND. What disappointed me further was that after stopping, I wasn’t properly given aftercare instructions. Instead, the focus felt like it shifted immediately to collecting payment, rather than making sure I knew how to care for the tattoo. Overall, I didn’t feel the service was handled in a professional manner. From the communication, to the unfinished work, to the pressure to pay in full, to the lack of aftercare guidance. This is only my experience at this branch and others may differ, but based on what happened to me, I recommend being very clear about session plans and payment terms, and making sure aftercare instructions are fully explained before leaving. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed rather than excited. I hope the studio improves communication and customer care for future clients. While I initially shared my concerns about the aftercare, the real issue was the unprofessional behavior of the artist. Before even completing the agreed tattoo, he repeatedly pushed for full payment. At the end, he was shaky, constantly typing, and asking for 25 million for a chest piece he hadn’t even started. Initially, he asked for 27 million—2 million as a ‘tip.’ This constant price shifting isn’t how clients should be treated. My advice: don’t pay in full until your tattoo is done, and be cautious if you deal with this artist.

I asked to come by for a piercing that was about to close back up. They told me I could come right away, I rode 20 minutes only to be told to come back in half an hour. In the time it took me to go over there, the piercing has already closed -_-

Got a late night tattoo. Super reasonable price. Gentle tattooing and excellent fine line work. I’m so impressed. The guys were good fun too. Only thing is he was wearing a Man U top and as a Chelsea man I was not impressed - but I’ll let it slide because he’s a true artist with a tattoo gun.
